Benefit for Our Brother Dan
Donation protected
The Santa Barbara Special Enforcement Team Support Foundation, INC. is organizing this fundraising effort to benefit our brother, Senior Deputy Daniel McSkimming. SrDep. McSkimming recently suffered a life-changing injury while working a patrol shift in the City of Carpinteria, and as result, he was forced to undergo treatment that placed him into a medically induced coma for many days. During this ordeal his family has been forced to endure months of hospitalization, surgical procedures, and many sleepless nights. While SrDep. McSkimming is fighting through his injury, his road to recovery will likely be long and full of challenges; physical, mental, and financial. In an effort to lighten the financial burden that the McSkimming family will be forced to bear in the coming weeks and months, the SBSET Support Foundation is asking for donations to the McSkimming family to help ease their financial burden during Dan's transition to recovery. These tax-deductible donations will be made to the SBSET Support Foundation, a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, on behalf of the McSkimming Family.
SrDep. McSkimming has been a member of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department for over 16 years, prior to which he worked in juvenile probation. During his long career with the Sheriff’s Department, SrDep. McSkimming has worked in a variety of assignments throughout the southern portion of Santa Barbara County. These assignments include south county patrol, SWAT, forensics, gang suppression, the training bureau, and a stint as a Tac Officer at the Ventura County Criminal Justice Training Center’s Law Enforcement Academy. SrDep. McSkimming’s presence in these different assignments has had a tremendous impact on our community, our organization, profession, and his many friends and colleagues throughout the Tri-Counties.
In addition to his professional life, SrDep. McSkimming is happily married to his loving and supportive wife Staci, and is a father to two wonderful children; Alexa (Age 7) and Logan (Age 12). Throughout this ordeal, SrDep. McSkimming’s family has endeavored to be as supportive as any family could possibly be. Staci has been forced to take a leave of absence from work in order to make the daily drive from their home in Camarillo to the recovery facility in Santa Barbara. During her visits, Staci helps Dan with his daily physical therapy, and reads him the many letters and kind words that the McSkimming’s extended law enforcement family continues to send. They are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support, and are grateful to the many friends, colleagues, and medical professionals who have brought them through this fight thus far.
Please consdier donating to this very worthy cause. SrDep. McSkimming has dedicated his professional life to taking care of our community, the least we can do is help take care of his family while he travels on his road to recovery.
