Starting Blackberry & Oak Community

Remember a world where our relationship with the Earth wasn't confined to what we see out of our windshields on the way to work. Remember a world where real human connection is the basis of relationships, rather than electronic social media. Remember a world where each person is taken into account in a community founded on equality, consensus, and respect.

Our goal this spring is to lauch a project that has been brewing for over 8 years.

The Larger Goal is to build a sustainable, Earth centered community on our parcel
of land situated smack dab in between Stillwater and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We will build earth friendly homes (including, but not limited to; cob, earthship, and underground methods).
We will utilize the power of the sun and wind for electricity. The water for the community will be collected from rain and from a well that has already been excavated. We will grow food and use canning and fermenting as ways of preserving that food.

We will host classes and workshops on skills such as: canning and preserving food, ecologically friendly building methods, bee keeping, organizing non-heirarchical community structures, growing food, the enneagram, natural child birth, animal husbandry, freeschooling, etc. We want to show others the value of skill sharing, of learning and developing individual potential, and using that as a means to grow into better human inhabitants for our Mother Earth.

The Goal for This Summer is to construct a cobwood house, obtain solar panels or a wind turbine, as well as have a water well pump installed. These three very important first steps are what we are raising money for at this time.

These may sound like lofty goals, which is why we need your help! The current way of life isn't working, so we must find ways to live that DO work! If any of this makes sense to you, donate, contact us, volunteer, let us know you are out there and want to be a part of this project towards a better life! If you are already involved in something similar, let's connect!
