Bob Bishop Medical/Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
On January 25th at approximately 7:00 pm, we lost Robert Bishop (aka…Bob) to complications from pneumonia.
Bob had not been feeling well for a few weeks, when Shawn tried to convince him to go to the doctor. Anyone who knows the two of them knows how difficult of a task it would have been for Shawn to get Bob to comply.
Finally, on January 2, Shawn vetoed Bob's request, called an ambulance and off to Northside Forsyth Hospital they went. With pneumonia in his lungs, he was extremely weak and fighting very hard. The decision was made to put him on a ventilator to help Bob breathe more comfortably so his body could begin to heal. Over the course of three weeks, there was almost no improvement.
Shawn was at Bob's side constantly. He asked all the important questions, and when someone asked, he had all the important answers. Days were long; nights were even longer for Shawn as he sat with nothing but his thoughts and memories.
For those of us who knew Bob, we know that this would not be how he would choose to live. After Bob’s decision to remove himself from the ventilator and stop all treatment, he seemed to have a calmness that had not been present in the previous days. Under the circumstances, as difficult of a decision as it was, Shawn knew saying goodbye to a dear friend and partner was ultimately what he had to do.
In order to provide Bob with proper services and assist Shawn with medical bills we are hoping to raise $2500. From the generosity of a family friend a sizeable donation has already been made; for which Shawn is most grateful.
If you are able to donate, any amount will be appreciated. If you are unable to donate we ask for your prayers and hope that you will sign the memorial page that has been set up on the funeral home’s website: http://www.ingramfuneralhome.com/book-of-memories/2035236/Bishop-Robert-/obituary.php
He will be greatly missed, much remembered, and enormously loved.
Thank you, and God Bless you all....
Bob, we miss you already!
