In Loving Memory of Briar Novitski

Unfathomable loss…
Briar Novitski tragically passed away June 25th at the age of 16. Where the start of the summer break would normally bring promise of joy and new adventures to be had, instead has become filled with grief and loss by the whole community. There are no words for the shock and void felt by his parents Tanya and Paul, and his twin brother Callum at this time with Briar’s sudden passing.
Briar’s kind and gentle spirit touched the lives of so many during his short time on earth. A friend to many and admired teammate and competitor on the courts, Briar was incredibly focused and made things happen around him. He wasn’t one to worry about too much, and believed instead his energy could be better spent finding solutions. Briar was truly a bright light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, was, and still is so very loved, and now missed.
As so many friends and family members, teammates and the wider community have reached out to offer their support and assistance, we ask that you please consider making a donation via this Go-Fund-Me to help Briar’s family alleviate expenses at this unexpectedly difficult time. If you are able to support this family in their time of need and help them not feel alone in their grief, no donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference.
Let us come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable young man who brought so much happiness to those around him. A celebration of Briar’s life will take place later in July.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Donations that exceed the expenses of Briar's passing will be used to create a bursary or award in his name.
