Bristol Jam Plan
Donation protected
Bristol Jam Plan is a community project turning donated surplus produce into delicious preserves.
Made by volunteers, Bristol Jam Plan use fruit and vegetables that might otherwise go to waste to make preserves for local shelters and community groups who can use them. Saving them money and supplementing fresh meals with handmade preserves that can be stored and used when necessary. All our preserves will be gluten free and suitable for vegans.
We will be selling these preserves to the public and donating proceeds from sales to local charities. We raised £135 for Caring in Bristol from our first fundraising event at Love Food Festival in February.
Our GoFundMe aims to help us cover production costs such as jars, labels, and other ingredients; sugar, vinegar and spices etc.
As a guide, £30 would buy 100 jars or 20l cider vinegar, £18 for a sack of sugar, £5 would buy enough spices for 3 months. The less money we have to spend to buy these products, the more money we raise for charity! We aim to at least triple cash donations by processing surplus fruit and vegetables into a value-added, saleable product with a longer shelf life.
---
And finally, we also need volunteers - to help with preparation, production, distribution, and getting the word out. Help us rescue food that will otherwise be wasted and use it to help Bristol shelters and community groups. We will also run monthly events where we will raise money for local charities and community groups! Each month we will donate proceeds from sales and fundraising to a different local charity.
