Send Buffalo to Festival de Cannes!

Donation protected

The Buffalo filmmaking team Partially Submerged Elephants was just presented with the opportunity of a lifetime: to represent the city of good neighbors at the Festival de Cannes, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.

In August 2017, the team conceived, executed, and delivered the film “Ride of Your Life,” in two sleepless days as part of the Buffalo 48-Hour Film Project. The film received top honors in Buffalo and more recently received international acclaim at the Filmapalooza in Paris, France.  The team brought home Best Cinematography, was nominated for Best Film and Best Editing, and has been placed in the Top-5 films worldwide from the 48-Hour Film Project this past competition year.

Though an incredible opportunity, it is an expensive venture, which we cannot do alone!  Please consider making a donation to our travel fund. As emerging film and arts professionals, every dollar will make a difference.

Thank you for helping us make our dream a reality!

Team members include Scott Balzer, Cole Bielecki, Marc Braun, Travis Carlson, Lizzie Claflin, Tori Claflin, Marc Davies, Tim Durham, CJ Gates, Megan Gonsalves, Cheri and Allen Leight, Maria Marinaccio, John Myers, Shakora Purks, Aaron and Jenny Rizzo, and Ben Woody.

The short film portion of the Festival de Cannes will be held May 14 – 19, 2018. The team intends to travel to Cannes May 13 – 20, 2018.
