Cambree's Medical Fund for KTS
Donation protected
Cambree was born with a very rare vascular condition called Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome. It only affects about 1 in 100,000 people worldwide. Not much is known about where KTS comes from, each case has to be treated individually based on symptoms and severity, and a cure has not yet been found. Proper preventative care (such as yearly MRIs and surgeries), and frequent doctor's visits are essential to ensuring Cambree has the best chance of living as normal a life as possible.
Cambree is affected from her left hip down to her toe with physical features such as a large port wine stain, lumps under her skin from various vein malformations, and a larger and longer left leg due to the swelling from blood flow. Cambree has already had multiple ultrasounds, MRIs, and procedures to attempt to slow the swelling of her leg. She currently wears shoes with a one inch orthopedic lift to correct the overgrowth in her affected leg and to prevent hip problems. She also wears tights to help the blood and lymphatic fluid properly flow.
A resident of Oklahoma City, Cambree travels to Boston Children's Hospital for treatment with a very well known Interventional Radiologist and his team of doctors who also treat KTS. At this time we are raising funds to go directly to her medical costs and travel expenses. We are unsure of the expected amount of times they will be traveling, but we do know that this condition tends to increase in symptoms as patients with KTS get older. All funds will be directly used for the treatment of Cambree.
Cambree is almost 3 years old, and is a strong - willed toddler which we believe God instilled in her to make an impact on those who she comes into contact with. She really enjoys dancing, swimming, gymnastics, and being outside as much as possible. Not many things slow her down, and she teaches us about strength and perseverance as she fearlessly battles this condition.
As her family, we strive to let people know about this condition and create a more empathetic community who aims to gain knowledge and offer acceptance to those we are born just a little different than "normal". We are so grateful for the opportunity to share her story, and have support through social media outlets, and giving people like you.
