Capes 4 Kids- child cancer patients

Donation protected
This page has been created to raise funds for the materials and fabric needed to create "magical" handmade capes for children battling cancer and other life threatening circumstances.

My 6 year old niece Maggie is the inspiration for the capes. She was diagnosed with cancer a week after her 5th birthday. She's 6 now and still fighting. She hates those blue hospital gowns, not just because they're boring, they're also a little drafty. To make her feel as beautiful and special as she is, I designed a cape she could wear over her gown. During extended stays in the hospital, the children are often times connected to an IV line. These capes are specially designed with that in mind! Maggie loves to wear her capes while riding down the halls on her IV pole :)

The nurses at Children's Hospital, as well as parents of other patients, have suggested selling the capes, but I don't want to sell them. I want to GIVE as many children as possible a cape to make them feel as special and happy as my beautiful niece does. The only problem is the cost.....

Fabric isn't cheap and each one could cost between $40-$50 to make. I know that sounds expensive, but we make them from quality fabrics for the comfort of each child. They're fighting for their life and deserve nothing but the best! This is where I need you. All money raised through this site will be used to purchase fabric and materials to make the capes; all of which will be donated to the little warriors of Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH.

If God blesses this effort and donations surpass our goal, we would LOVE to expand this to multiple hospitals treating childhood cancer and other life threatening circumstances . (This is a not for profit effort and we will NOT be compensated for our time in sewing each cape.)

Every little bit helps, so please donate if you are able. We will also gladly accept fabric if you have some kid friendly patterns lying around that you are willing to donate. (Each cape takes a minimum of 3 1/2 yards of fabric for each side.) You can contact me at: [email redacted] with any questions or suggestions.

Thank you and God Bless!
