Home for our whole family!

The short story goes that our present landlord only allows for one pet. We have lived here for almost 3 years and although it was a rule, it was never enforced until after this years maintenance inspection in mid-January. Several of our neighbors are also affected. After other options have failed, this is where our family is hopefully heading with your help.
When we learned we were gonna have to give up our cats, we were heart-broken. They are part of our family! We only have a few friends that we would even consider to adopt our kids and they were unable. Our local shelter is a quick to kill shelter so that is not even an option. We have had a couple of good people helping us by contacting pet sanctuaries or temporary fostering for the cats, but so far, all are full. Feline overpopulation is a problem here, so many people with big hearts, like us, take in abandoned animals as best we can.
This prompted our search for our best and perhaps the only option. Moving. Right now we are living in a small 2 bedroom apartment. We looked into renting another
place but had the same problem with pet restrictions. So, on to seeing about buying a house. We looked at buying a mobile home, but the cheapest was right at $30,000 and we still had to buy land, which around here is about $10,000 an acre, minimum, and many places have restrictions on home types. By chance, we came across this house and we fell in love. We want to make it our Furrever home!
Since we had not been planning on a buying a house anytime soon, we have not saved up any money. This house is great! It has lots of space for the six of us because right now we are tripping over each other and it will cost less than the smaller mobile plus land.
We need the 20% down payment, good faith money to make an offer, closing costs and since the house is a fixer upper, there's the need for a bit of plumbing, some
electrical work in the kitchen and garage and work on the heating and A/C system. It's not a complete wreak, just the kitchen and garage. The house can be lived in with just the plumbing work done, kitchen sink and cabinet and two appliances, a refrigerator and stove. Everything else can be worked on once we get into the house, including the kitchen, which is just four walls, the plumbing sticking out of the floor and outlets, no cabinets what so ever! Also, moving costs, cleaning supplies and pizza for our family and friends that help us move!
We are not looking at anything fancy for the kitchen or otherwise, just functional!
We only have about 6 weeks at the most to either "Get rid of those cats" or get into our new home!
We thank you for any contribution to our family's new Furrever home. We can't wait to build cat passages throughout the house and help other pets/families in this kind of situation someday!
Love Peter, Lisa, Djanga, Taz, Thor and Maggie.
