On July 19th, 2020 Aubrey at the age of 10 was diagnosed with T cell lymphoma. The days leading up to that she had a rough sounding cough. So we took her to the ER. They did an x ray and then sat me down to tell me they thought it was lymphoma. I felt I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. It took a few minutes to set in. She was so scared and I couldn’t do anything about it. We spent the night in the er because the mass was pushing up against her heart and lungs causing fluid to retain around her heart. We rode by ambulance the next day to Shands in Gainesville. We spent a month and a half there getting treatment. She went from a femoral line in her leg then developing a blood clot in her leg, to finally be able to receive a central line in her chest. She then developed a steroid psychosis from being on steroids the whole time. Her mass had shrunk in size that we were able to go home in nw Florida. For the the next months of treatment she has improved so much. She goes to Pensacola now for treatment with an amazing team of oncologists. That was roughly 9 months of weekly treatments at a time. I am a single mom of 2, I do have a boyfriend who has been helpful, but I have came to the point I must ask for help. She is still in treatment and will go now monthly unless she spikes a fever or something out of the ordinary happens with her. I have worked here and there in the past few months but I have not been able to go back to work full time yet due to her getting sick with a uti and running temps. My saving are totally depleted as of now. I usually don’t ask for help but now I’m sinking. I just want to provide a life again for my little family. Please help I’m throwing up my white flag.
