Build Sculpture for ECO-Visions
Donation protected
I'm an artist living and working in Vermont.
I'm working on an art project, and I'm asking for help. I'm building a large sculpture for ECO-Visions , an environmentally-themed outdoor art show opening at King Farm in Woodstock, Vermont, in September.
This exhibit is part of the annual SculptureFest show. I have three pieces in the first SculptureFest exhibit that opened on Prosper Road, adjacent to the King Farm, on June 27. The picture at the top of this page shows the major piece that I constructed for the show.
The ECO-Visions sculpture will be a 6' cube constructed of chain link fencing. The cube will be mostly filled with recyclable plastics to help the viewer understand the impact of unrecycled plastics on landfills. The cube will be mounted on one corner and will stand approximately 10' tall.
I'm asking for your help supporting the construction of this sculpture. Large-scale sculpture costs much more than the smaller things that I was producing in the past.
For this project, materials (fencing, terminal poles, connectors, fabricated corners) come to about $1,350. Printing and postage will be about $210. GoFundMe and processor fees will be about $125. I am collecting recyclables from coworkers.
Excess funding will be applied towards a large-scale piece that I am designing to be constructed in the spring.
Any proceeds from the sale of this sculpture will be donated to support teenage suicide awareness and prevention.
Thank you for your support!
