Change for Generations to Come

As a young family living in Vermont our passion is to leave a positive imprint in our community by supporting others in being the best version of themselves as we strive to do the same in our lives. We do this by playing an active role in changing stereotypes and ceilings we have witnessed and experienced time and time again in our culture. We have three young children and two Families First clients who we provide live in care for as well as working at Kindle Farm. As a family we feel our place in this world is to support others in being their best selves by helping them develop sustainable interdependence, basic life skills, and a healthy quality of life in a positive, loving, clean and sober, supportive home environment. We believe that the best way for us to support others is to make sure our basic needs are met and that we remain healthy so we can support our clients in obtaining and maintaining a healthy and safe living situation and lifestyle.

Being a minority in a state like Vermont is not always easy but for us it is so worth it. We feel very grateful to be able to give our children a quality of life that most young families of color unfortunately don’t have access to, and some never get to experience. We want to teach our children and the young folks we work with that regardless of skin color, social class, and whatever odds you may face in your life if you work hard enough, stay an active participant in your community, ask for support when you are in need, and give support when others in your community are in need you can always accomplish whatever you set your mind to.

At this point in our journey we are reaching out for support in order to pay for closing costs/ downpayment to  afford our very first home to continue our work in the community. Because we have a household of 7 we need enough space to support our clients and are hoping to find a 4 bedroom home ( or a smaller home that we can transform into a 4 bedroom) that we can use to permanently solidify space to continue our work in social services, housing friends with disabilities who may benefit from what we have to offer.

As many of you know the social service field rarely pays a living wage and though we work for some incredibly amazing, caring, hardworking, generous people, in order for us to provide a high quality standard of care we need some support. By helping our family you are helping us leave a positive impact in our community and in turn the world…Our goal is to raise healthy children and foster the positive skills our clients need in order to go into the world and also leave a positive impact. We hope that you will consider us and help us create a domino effect of love, compassion, support, interdependence, and positivity in our community.

The money we raise will go to a downpayment so we can hopefully avoid or lower the cost of Private mortgage insurance, closing costs and associated fees, and basic work to make sure the house is up to the code our agency must comply with in order to provide a safe living space for our clients.
