Chanse needs an iPad to further his independence. He has Cerebral Palsy but you wouldn't know it by his attitude.
This is my son Chanse. This little man has had the world and all against him in his life. He is 9 years old and has been through 13 surgeries including both hips being completely reconstructed. He is in a wheelchair and is severely limited in his movements. He has taught our family so very much. I want to get him an iPad for Christmas and for the first time, I can't afford to do for him what I want to.
His dad just had his 3rd back surgery in 18 months so is out of work. I can't get a job as I am the one who has to do the lifting around the house. So, I am turning to you.
He uses an iPad at school but they are not allowed to take them home. He can do most of his work on it, but to send homework home they have to print it out and then we sit and help him. I have no problem doing this, but then they do not get to see his actual work and it is not helping him become independant.
I want to purchase one for him, hopefully for Christmas so that he can start to do more for himself. Anything donated over the cost of the actual iPad will be used for the appropriate accessories and adaptive devices. I would so very much appreciate anything anyone could do for him.
