At the age of 18 I lost my father to suicide.
He was the most intelligent, loving and empathic person I know to have existed. Before his death, he spent time a lot of time supporting and helping others, he did not care about their background or reputation, he treated everyone with dignity and respect and would help them in any way he could.

My dad is the person who I strive to be, his love for people was recipricated at his funeral and for a man who claimed to be unloved, so many people came to grieve and lost such an important friend and family member.

Not long after my fathers death, I tried to take my own life, this was one of the worst and most painful experiances of my life and not just because of the damage I had done to myself but because I was treated so badly and not given the right support or treatment

Many Charities, like Mind, do what they can to support people and ensure that they are no left alone. Like me, they want to do everything they can to fight the stigma attached to mental health.
Something does need to change with the way we percieve mental illness and we need to be able to talk about our mental illnesses without being ashamed.

Suicide rates are increasing evey year and that is not ok. We can make a change now and as a community we can support eachother and live more comfortable lives.
No one deserves to fight mental illness and no one deserves to feel suicidal.

At the chairty ball we will be holding an auction with some really lovely items, item descriptions will be released as they are recived.
We will also be having some lovely live music and speeches given by people who have been suicidal or whom have supported or surivived someone who has attemped suicide.

This event is not only for an amazing and understated cause but also will encourage and support you.

This event will be completely mental health friendly, there will be no alcohol and guests are welcome to come and go as they please, providing they have a ticket.

If you donate to this event, as we have reached our target for the venue cost. Money raised from now on will be split between the event and West Norfolk Mind.

Any excess funds however will be put towards to total fundraised. If you would only like to dontate to Mind, then there will be loads of opportunities at the event and before hand.

If you donate to the cost of the venue, you will be given free entry to the event, be sure to leave your name by the donation so I can authorise the ticket.

The event will be held on 26th April 2018 from 7pm till 10pm at Kings Lynn Town Hall

If you want to buy a ticket at a normal price, this will cost £3, you can message me and I can sort this out for you.

If you want to know why this is so important to me, you can read my book
