Charlies memorial and funeral fund

There may not be a right way to begin something like this. To describe what this sweet family has gone through in only a few short paragraphs seems impossible.  In one whirlwind of a year, Kristi and CJ's life has changed forever.

Last year at about this time, Kristi learned that she was expecting. Her and CJ were both delighted. I've never seen a change so big in one person as I saw in Kristi after she found out. Her face changed, she seemed to always be smiling, she was glowing. Her attitude changed, she talked about how she had never felt more beautiful, or important in her life. She and CJ grew together and loved eachother more than ever before. CJ constantly talked about their soon-to-be daughter, about how cool she was going to be and how much joy she had already brought them even before she arrived.

A couple months down the road they went in for a routine ultrasound and found that Charlie had a hole in her heart. Upon further observation they learned that she had AV canal (the chambers in her heart did not develop) and with this heart condition there was a 40% chance that their daughter would be born with Down Syndrome. They did further testing and learned that Charlie did, in fact, have Trisomy 21. Their entire world was turned upside down, but they had already grown to love her so much that it seemed like an obstacle, but something that they could handle. They were ready to dedicate 100% of themselves to Charlie.

On June 7th, they welcomed a teeny, beautiful blue eyed babe into this world. She arrived READY to fight. Tough doesnt even begin do describe her. Her stats were wonderful, the doctors couldn't believe how well she was doing. She was able to go home with her mom and dad in just a few short days.

Charlie spent 112 beautiful days with her family before she left this world in her sleep. Her clean, beautiful soul was so refreshing. She would lock eyes with you and you could feel how pure she was. She was not only loved by family but by friends. Strangers even couldn't help but feel her sweet presence, they wanted to look at her, touch her, smile with her.

Nothing can take away the pain that Charlie's family is experincing from the loss of their daugher, their everything. All we can do is hope that by our small donations we can take some of the burden of funeral costs from them in this terrible time.

Funeral information will be posted as soon as it becomes known.
