A Coffee House to Benefit Orphans

Donation protected
What if we could start a non-profit coffee shop to continually raise funds to give the neediest orphans a home and family? Many times I've heard people say, "For the price of a cup of coffee you could do this or that." Why not have the coffee and do the good you want to do? That's how the dream of CHI Coffee was born.
I am a man of many passions: God, family, kids, and coffee pretty much sum up my most major passions. I had a dream to work with Child Help International and start children's homes for the neediest orphans left without a family. We succeeded in Kenya. But funds ran out to start any other homes in other locations. India is next. Then Myanmar. We have so much to do with 163,000,000 orphans in the world. My coffee passion is a way to keep the work going and keep giving the neediest kids a place to call home and people to call family.

-The Purpose-
A non-profit coffee house that serves gourmet coffees and espressos (sourced farmer direct from non-profits and NGO's) to raise funds for building homes for orphans through Child Help International.
Learn More About Child Help International

-The Name-
CHIcoffee is a play on words. CHI is used as a “double meaning” in our use. First, it is Child Help International, the parent cooperation of the enterprise and the beneficiary of the donations. Secondly, chi (correctly “qi”) is an active principle that is a part of every living thing. It is usually translated “life force” or “energy flow.” This serves as a “double meaning” as well. Many act as though coffee were the life force or energy flow to get their day started and keep it going. We are using coffee to be the life force of our ministry to the fatherless.

-The Coffee-
Think real. Think gourmet. We selected the finest coffees and espressos from non-profit organizations that use coffee sales to fund their work with children, missions, pastors, and widows. We then use the coffees to make you one of the best coffees or espressos you'll ever try! French Press, Pour overs, espressos, cappucinos made by trained and certified baristas who are as passionate about the orphan crisis as they are about your coffee.

-The Location-
1803 S. 10th Ave in Caldwell, ID. Just across from the West Valley Medical Center on the major artery of the city of nearly 50,000 residents (a suburb of Boise Metro).
This is a city that knows coffee and loves to help a good cause. The downstairs of Child Help International's office seems the best place for the city's newest coffee house!
