Claudia & Erick's Recovery Fund

Late Sunday/early Monday night we were woken up by our neighbor Claudette screaming "Kenwood is on fire. We have to leave NOW!” Our home at 2801 Bristol Rd was situated in a narrow, heavily wooded corridor, and our street dead ends at Annadel State Park, so we knew  we could be trapped so left immediately. In the panic, we grabbed a few belongings, our passports and one of our cats, Sheba. We needed to leave our other cat, the horse, the mule and the chickens behind. Through a ferocious and hot fire wind, lots of flying debris and falling trees we made it safely out of our valley. Almost at highway 12, we turned around to warn our friends at Morton’s / Aletheia community whom were not answering their phones. Through a route of fires, we all made it through Bennett Valley to the west of us, and then safely to a sister community, La Tierra, in Sebastopol where we have been most graciously put up for the time being. We have not been able to return since that night, but recently received the news that our house is gone. It is possible/likely that Erick’s shop and the source of his livelihood are also gone.

We are well taken care of for the moment, but will definitely need help to get back on our feet again. Both Erick and I do not have any personal belongings other than what we brought with us (extremely little) out of the house, so anything helps and is greatly appreciated. Proceeds from this campaign will be used to sustain us while we find a new place to live, as well as pay for first/last rent deposit for a new place. Thank you so much for helping us begin to rebuild.
