The Recovery Church

Donation protected
By age 26, I had become a coke-head, an alcoholic, a thief, a liar, and severely depressed. After writing a suicide letter on September 29, 2014, I fell to my knees and prayed for a miracle. By the grace of God, I've been clean and sober since that day.

It brings me great joy to see other people light up and overcome addiction. Contrary to what they teach in AA, addiction and alcoholism can be defeated. There's freedom in the name of Jesus. I see it every day in the mirror.

In 2017, I felt a crazy pull on my heart to leave everything behind and share God's love with the world. (Kinda like the Bible tells us to do lol). I left my full-time job at a software company, my apartment...all of it. I've been traveling the entire country, living out of my truck, and literally following Jesus...as crazy as that may sound.

After several months of visiting churches, treatment centers, and recovery groups all over the country, I've noticed a huge need for a church that does things differently - a place where addicts and alcoholics are treated like people, a place where freedom is found, and a place that actually provides for those in need.

It's time to stop judging others, do more than just pray for people, and practice unconditional love. That's what The Recovery Church is all about.

If we can reach $50,000 by May 1, 2018, I'll be able to rent a home in California to start this ministry from. This home will serve as a recovery house for people who need food and shelter, a place to host meetings, and a place to share God's love with everyone who enters.

My vision is to plant a physical church in Encinitas, California by 2020, and grow to multiple locations across the United States. Crazy? Yes. But that's what I love about God. He can do anything!
