Disaster Response, & Veteran Care

Hello everyone, myself & another disabled military veteran came together one day to develop a way to continue giving back to the community as we once had done by serving in the military. With the immense amounts of issues that our country faces on a daily basis we thought of all the different ways for us to make a difference in other peoples lives for the better, and that led us to a starting point for what we now call:
THE CANOPY PROJECT
We began by collaborating ideas, and writing down all of the key points that we wanted to change within our society and that led us to developing extensive veteran support services that envelop an array of services; from well-being, psychiatric support, housing placement/ upgrades, moving, transportation, being a personal liaison to aid in acquiring their benefits, gym, to just being a friendly ear to them or their loved ones, and even providing a place that they can just go "hang" out at to deal with the everyday issues that many are faced with. We believe that we, as an advanced society, owe it to our veterans for providing such an exemplary way of life for us, and fighting for what is right, and just in this world which is why we began with this as our starting point and it is no surprise, considering fairly recent, and on-going events/ problems that veterans are suffering emotionally, physically, mentally, with their families, and personal lives to the point that many are driven to the unthinkable because they simply do not have adequate support services from the places they ask for it. We do not only believe in these values because we are veterans ourselves, we believe in them because we are American's, and American's look after each other when the need arises...
Once we developed this plan of attack to destroy the domestic problems our veterans face, we began to see the different ways that our services could be carried to help the entire population in one way or another. As veterans, we have seen unthinkable things and myself & business partner continue to add to these categories based on alleviating the stresses, and mental demands situations of that caliber cause upon the psyche to better peoples lives for the long run, and extensively research new ways to further the support that we provide which led us to the next segment of what our company does for the civilian sector...Once The Canopy Project outlined our veteran services portion we then turned to figuring out a way that could benefit everyone else that doesn’t fall into that scope, and since we are based around relief services it eventually came to us as a "no-brainer". We started by thinking about the times when American's feel at their worst, and most helpless which led us to focusing on natural disasters which in comparison, can be related to any type of homeland occurrence that causes individuals, family's, emergency services, and our economy a level of stress, un-certainty, insecurity... etc. so we decided to start developing a means for the community to feel safe even when a drastic event takes place, as well as providing a level of unparalleled teamwork with the affected areas local emergency personnel to bring the devastation away from everyone’s mind. When something such as an earthquake takes place there are areas that go without any help or service for quite some time while the most affected areas get the response first due to lack of resources. It is through that gap in community resources that we found a place for our disaster rehabilitation portion of The Canopy Project to build a foothold in order to ensure those in need, get at the minimum-medical attention from our certified cadre, food, water, clothing, evacuation, and any type of generalized help that we can provide ourselves, and through our growing list of volunteers that we load up and bring on site with all the necessary equipment to help people like you when you need it most... looking back in time a little bit, lets think about the devastation the Northridge earthquake caused the area and surrounding cities without help arriving for many of them when they needed it most for an unknown amount of time. I remember how scary it was from my point of view being very close to the epicenter and not knowing when someone would come to help everyone suffering a multitude of injuries, and in need of basic sustenance. I was fairly young then, but it will forever be burned into memory which is something that could have been avoided had there been an organization such as The Canopy Project there to assist in every way that we know how to. For instance one of our larger operations was back when the Moore, OK tornado hit. We came together, and with minimal personnel and my partners truck truck/trailer and were able to gather around 20,000$ worth of food, clothing, animal food, cases of water, building supplies, toys for the kids, and basically everything that people here in California could part with to help the Moore community during that terrible disaster... I will add a few pictures to follow that show a fraction of what we did over the course of a full week to help restore order, well-being, and above all bring some smiles back to the faces of the people that had lost everything...$20k + worth of community and personally donated goods, supplies, & equipment...
One of the highly affected areas...
Shown here was one of our founders helping to keep a home (that was not demolished) liveable in the wake of the EF5 tornado by covering the roof, investigating the damage, and providing essentials to the family so that they can remain in their home until the insurance company began the repairs.
In addition to our extensive disaster related knowledge and training we have many years relating to construction and the medical field. Through this vast amount of extra knowledge and acquired talents from our personal and military careers we are able to single handedly tackle any location regardless of sizes well as work hand in hand with local personnel and volunteers. While we do need funding to make all of these services available to those that require them free of charge, as anyone knows networking is a large part of the business world in todays society, so we have already begun building a professional network of not only supporting, like-minded companies, but people that we call friends in this fight against veteran depression, financial hardships, benefit allocation, community support, and disaster rehabilitation to name but a few. The company we go to for our construction, demolition, plumbing, framing, roofing, electrical, etc., needs is A-1 Total Service Construction based in Los Angeles CA ( http://a-1totalserviceplumbing.com
And for our medical/ trauma training, kits, installations, on-site support, and another liaison that believes in this cause because he is a part of it is www.frontline-resources.com , through these partnerships, and the ones we gain in the future, mixed with our transparent, and ethically based strategies we are confident that we can alleviate, and counteract the pain each member of the community faces when dealing with military separation, or disasters that could happen in your home town!
We purchased a building in Los Angeles to use as our base of operations for all the services described above as well as a second hand/ donation center to start raising the revenue that we need to fund our first responder/ volunteer network, vehicle response, first aid/ trauma kits & truck, trailers, and equipment so that when the next disaster hits we are not only prepared to get there but we have the funds availability to actually make it happen and when the next incident does hit we will have all of the supplies/ equipment/ personnel on hand to load up and take everything people need directly to them without a lapse in time from the need of having to frantically acquire it all.
Alongside of this well needed service, we are dedicated to the well-being and quality of life issues our veterans are faced with every day. With this store (and eventually others across the United States) opening we will be employing honorably/ medically discharged veterans to not only work the stores and prep the response crews with knowledge, training, and empowerment, but they will be allowed to volunteer based on their abilities, and it will ultimately help re-build our economy and the mental status of men and women who have selflessly served our country and are now otherwise unable to find jobs that can and WILL accommodate their disabilities, as well as provide civilian tailored training from our certified cadre to further empower the community and raise awareness across the board!
Disabilities from service connected injuries are a huge ball and chain on life, I know this personally, and with your help and our dedication we will provide everything mentioned above, general quality of life upgrades that are otherwise unavailable to them for whatever reason, and more as our abilities increase with no charge to the affected individuals*. We have been through the VA obstacle course and have quite a few tricks up our sleeves to help our vets get the disability ratings, and care that they deserve... the process, and transition from active duty is hard enough on you, especially if you are disabled in any way-physically or mentally, and we want to literally walk you through the process of getting into your veterans affairs offices, hospitals, urgent care facilities, and every step is long and painful but we want to be there for you so that it can be as easy as possible.
In order to make these huge advancements in disaster relief/ rehabilitation, veteran and family care, and lighten up the lives of those that are in need of things like home repairs, retro fitting your house to accommodate your disabilities, getting you an address so you can get your payments from the VA, a ride to your appointments, or just even someone to talk to that understands what you’re going through, one of us will surely do everything in our power to make you feel at home with us and have been through it all, around the world... I have a large support network of people ready and willing to make all of these things happen, all we need is a little bit of help from you and this dream of making lives better actually becomes a solidified reality! I would also like to extend my email address so that if you would like to send me your contact information I can keep you informed of exactly what projects and people your money is being used for, or if you would like to be a volunteer yourself, our list is never full!
We all have dreams... Ours is to make others dreams, and their American way of life a reality...

Reviving the community of Mt. Baldy after flash floods destroyed a large majority of homes, resources, and access.
The ultimate goal is, yes to help every man, woman, and child no matter the age during and after any disaster... but in the times our country is secure we will fight the war we have at home. There should not be one veteran without a home, not one veteran on the street hoping someone drops their change in a cup, not one veteran needing assistance and not getting it! If I have your support and the support of my brothers, sisters, friends, family, and the minds behind our organization, we can, and WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCES THAT ARE NOT BEING MADE And get everyone the help they need to live long, happy, productive and sustainable lives...
Thank you so much for your support in making this organization a reality for those who may have nothing to start with, or have lost everything and just need some help getting their life back on track.
