Since March, Liberia and its neighboring countries Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Nigeria have been experiencing what the World Health Organization called the largest Ebola epidemic to date. The official death toll from Ebola in this region has reached 2,800 in six months, with 5,800 cases confirmed as of this Monday according to WHO. At this rate, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that there will be 8,000 cases by September 30, 2014 in Liberia and Sierra Leone and 550,000 cases by January 20, 2015 without additional interventions.

The Liberian Association of Michigan, the umbrella organization of Liberians residing in the state of Michigan, in our desire to augment the efforts of the international community, has embarked upon a campaign to solicit assistance of much needed medical and other supplies to send to Liberia.

In light of the above, we are appealing to all Liberians, Friends of Liberians, Fellow Africans, and the Global Communities to HELP US FIGHT THE EBOLA VIRUS!!!
