My Wilderness College Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Carley and I am hoping to raise funds to go to Alderleaf Wilderness College in September of this year (2015). I have been looking for a school like this since before I graduated high school in 2013, and I have finally found what I have been looking for. I will be earning college credits through Alderleaf from Western Colorado State University. Alderleaf teaches many subjects that I am passionate about which follow the lines of modern and traditional methods of sustainable living. Here is a short description from the school's website about the course that I wish to attend:
"The Alderleaf Wilderness Certification Program is a comprehensive, nine-month nature and outdoor survival course encompassing wilderness survival, wild edible & medicinal plants, wildlife tracking, outdoor leadership, and sustainable living skills. The program prepares you to apply nature skills in a variety of outdoor careers in wilderness education, environmental research, sustainable living, and beyond."
It is very important to learn how to live in a way that is more beneficial to the natural world. Attending this program will bring me one step closer to being able to teach others how to live in a way that is more sufficient and constructive. I will be able to apply these skills into my own personal life and my community. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support toward my dream! (scroll down for more details)
Each person who donates will receive an awesome gift!
• $1 - 5 My Never-ending Gratitude
• $6 - 20 Original Art Postcard
• $21- 50 Original Art Poster
• $51 - 100 Sacred Earth DVD
• $101 and over Sacred Earth & Echoes of Creation DVDs
(Photos and more details on "Thank You" gifts coming soon.)

Here are photos of my current project, converting our yard into a garden space! We planted potatos, tomatos, pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, chard, kale, spinach, beats, pole beans, sweet peas, strawberries, blueberries, an apple tree, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, onion, garlic, watermelons, and so much more! We have also experimented with raised garden beds and straw bale gardens. I bought four baby chicks and turned the tool shed into a chicken coop.
