Community Growth

Community Growth was started in January 2015 by Meaghan Power and Simon Buwaya. From that day on it has flourished thanks to supporters like you.

The project consists of 20 women who struggle to survive in extreme poverty. Most of the women are widowed with several children to care for. Through the success of sustainable agriculture they are now able to feed their families, and sustain an income. Although they still have many obstacles to overcome, reliable access to food, water and a small income is now not one of them.

Community Growth is now focusing on a school sponsorship program in which our sponsors are sending over 80 children to school.

Our partner school provides excellent
education but it is an unsafe place for children to come learn. It is an open environment with a lot of dust and mud. It’s unsanitary and the children suffer from parasites because of this. We would like to help make this a more safe and secure place for children to come learn. By purchasing the land the school is on and making small renovations we can successfully obtain this goal.

Over 5 years there have been a lot of changes in and around the community because of our sponsors. We are so excited to see what the next 5 years will bring and are forever so so grateful to you all.
