Eagle Project Ten Commandments

I am Conner Sasseen.  I am a Boy Scout in Lawton Oklahoma.  Each Eagle Scout gets the opportunity to do a community project.  I have chosen to build a monument honoring the Ten Commandments.  The monument will be built in the downtown district across from the Lawton City Hall.  Central Baptist Church is hosting my project and will provide long term support and any ongoing maintenance. The monument will be almost twenty feet tall and twenty feet wide. In addtion to the monument, my project will replace over 100 ft of retaining wall, a new sidewalk, and new landscaping.  The monument will be illuminated at night.  This will be a monument for the entire Lawton/Fort Sill community.

The funds that I am collecting will be used for materials necessary to build the new wall and monument. Construction is well underway on the project and I am currently making fundraising presentations now to raise the last of the money. My overall goal is $48,000.  Most of the money raised so far has been received by direct donation to my project sponsor Central Baptist Church. I wish to raise $15,000 of these funds through this gofundme account.

I am passionate about the Boy Scouts of America and my church.  I am proud to build this monument representing the foundation of what we believe in.  It will  beautify the downtown area and I hope it will be an inspiration to others.  I ask others to join me in this project. Together, we can make a difference.
