We are a group of 6th grade and AVID students from Chehalem Valley Middle School, in Newberg, Oregon.  We are raising money to support the work of Medical Teams International bringing relief to people in Nepal following the earthquake on April 25th that destroyed villages, prevented access to basic resources, and left 8,147 dead and 17,866 injured.

We are making peace flags (inspired by the traditional Nepalese Prayer flags) and asking people to sponsor individual fabric squares. Sponsors will be able to write a message or their name on the individual fabric flag, which will be woven into a larger community banner.

Our vision is to cover the hallways of our school and decorate our community with these peace flags to bring awareness to the dire situation in Nepal as well as inspire kindness, hope and friendship (the same core values as the traditional prayer flags) in our community while we  support the work of a local organization in making a tangible difference across the world in Nepal.

Please join us, and donate here to sponsor a peace flag! Sponsorships of $10 or greater will have their name and location written onto individual fabric pieces and sewn onto the peace flag banner hanging in our school. Money raised will join with our other fundraising efforts and given to Medical Teams International.

Thank you for supporting us, and for helping the people of Nepal! We can make a big difference working together!
