Dana Mattay's Foul Ball

On Friday, August 14, 2015, Dana was enjoying an evening of baseball supporting the local Frisco RoughRiders. With a crack of the bat a ball rocketed at Dana going over 100 mph. She was unable to react in time and the ball collided with the top part of her nose, between the eyes. We are very thankful that Dana is still with us but the resulting injuries were traumatic. She has multiple fractures and her sinuses were crushed. Dana is undergoing reconstructive surgery that will rebuild the sinus cavities and set the fractures. This is the first surgery and we are hoping this is the only one but only time will tell. The RoughRiders have reached out to Dana and our family and expressed genuine concern for her injuries. Unfortunately baseball organizations do not historically assist in injured fans medical bills.

Dana is a single mother of two struggling to make it on her own. Things were looking up for her as she just started a new position as an elementary school counselor and this happens right at the start of the school year. We wish to assist Dana and help offset the oncoming medical bills and to supplement income from missing work due to this accident.
