Danilo Silvestre's ballet auditions

Everybody has a dream. And Danilo’s dream is just to dance. But more than that. He dreams of a career as a professional ballet dancer.
From an early age, Danilo worked extremely hard to make his dream come true. He began dancing in a community program for underprivileged kids in Jardim Angela (Diversidança), a poor neighborhood in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Despite numerous challenges, his commitment to dance, natural talent and tenacious endurance led to an invitation to study at the prestigious Ballet Cisne Negro.
Having impressed his instructors, Danilo was next selected to join the Brazilian branch of the Bolshoi Academy, an affiliate of the internationally renowned Russian academy of dance. He graduated in 2014, having crafted his personal style, which encompasses the harmony and finesse of contemporary dance while physically pushing the boundaries of the human body.
As a young ballet dancer, Danilo collected many awards and won several competitions. As the grand prize winner in the “Fall in Dance International Festival 2016 (FidiFest)”, Danilo earned flight tickets and the opportunity to take advanced classes at the famous Alvin Ailey studio in New York City. His innovative physical style caught the attention of his instructors, who suggested that he should return to the city to audition for major dance companies.
But his life is never that simple. Because of limited financial resources, Danilo might miss this golden opportunity as it has happened many times before in his career. For example, after winning the FidiFest, Danilo was selected to represent Brazil in the Latin American qualifiers for the Dance World Cup. However, he could not afford to travel to Argentina, thus missing the chance to qualify for the World Cup in Germany. In another sad note, Danilo had to defer a full scholarship for the Miami City Ballet a few years ago because of the lack of resources to travel.
So, we have put together this campaign to support his travel and to keep him from missing another great opportunity in his career!
AND HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The audition season happens from February to May. We were already able to raise funds for his flight tickets but he still needs supports for housing, food, and transportation during his stay.
So, each one of you will be essential in this campaign. Any cent donated and any sharing of this project with friends, family and social media will be a huge contribution to his success
