Greene County Middle School in Jefferson, Iowa is a 7-8th grade building providing education to approximately 200 students each year. Historically, GCMS has raised funds for field trips, BONUS activities (recognizing good behavior), and equipment through a fall magazine sale. However, the past few years, sales have dwindled drastically. We believe there are multiple reasons for this - many we cannot control.
Therefore, in an effort to bring our fundraising efforts into the 21st century, we have decided to start a 'GoFundMe' page. Our initial fundraising goal is $5,000. All monies collected will be used to pay for student-centered activities, such as field trips and BONUS activities. Additionally, we would like to expand our equipment in the Life Skills Lab, where our students learn many skills from food preparation to clothing care to home repairs.
