DDD Keeping The Kids Ballin’

Donation protected
Every year around this time, I would drive my Dad to Walmart and he would buy as many footballs, basketballs, soccer balls and any other sporting goods he could afford at the time. He would literally spend every penny he had that day. Then we would drive straight to Troy’s Barber Shop on Perkins Rd and fill the back corner of the shop, completely covering the  donation box set aside to provide Christmas Gifts for kids in the area.

Shortly after being diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2018 my Dad made us aware of one of his final wishes, that he would live long enough to be able to see the entire back wall of Troy’s Barber Shop covered in his donation. He thought that if he started saving up as much money as possible now and maybe asked a few of his closest friends at George’s for a couple bucks, he could really make an impact on the donation for the year. Unfortunately my Dad didn’t live long enough to have us make that wish come true with him physically by our side, but a couple days before he left this earth I told him that we were going to make sure that his tradition continued and we were going to take it to the next level!!

Please help us honor my Father by giving what you can to support a good cause in keeping kids active and happy during the holidays. My Dad was the kind of man to give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger. He always stressed the importance of making sure to give to those less fortunate with no questions asked. He was a great man and keeping his tradition alive is exactly what he would want us to do. Thanks in advance!
