Let's help a young father in need
Donation protected
In June 2015, Dimitar Yovov from Plovdiv, Bulgaria was diagnosed with an acute myeloid leukaemia - M4.
Dimitar is being treated by medics at the University Hospital in Plovdiv. However, as soon as he is in remission, follow-up treatment consisting of marrow transplant must be carried out in Germany.
The young father has already filed an application to the Commission for Treatment Abroad at the Ministry of Health for financing the transplantation in Germany, but at the same his family and friends have started a donation campaign.
The transplantation will be carried out at the Helios clinic in Wiesbaden. It costs € 164,000, and the amount must be available when Dimitar achieves remission.
Dimitar, 36, is a husband and a father of two daughters. I don't know him personally - he is a friend of friend. Just doing my tiny bit to help a person in need.
Thank you!
Update from 15 December 2015
It is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news of the passing of a great man. Mitko is no longer with us, though his love for his family and friends will forever live with us.
I will keep the account open and will be grateful for your support to help Mitko's family through this sad and difficult time. They will need our help to bring Mitko home from Germany and attend to the funeral arrangements. Please keep Mitko's family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
