Nepal Medical response

Donation protected
The Kathmandu region of Nepal was struck by a 7.9 earthquake on April 25ht. The initial quake was followed by multiple strong aftershocks the strongest of which struck measured at 6.8 on the Richter scale.
The current death toll has exceeded 2,200 with 4, 625 injured (Independent Newspaper ).

Disaster Medics  is an entirely voluntary organisation. We’re based in Ireland but operate worldwide.

The organisation was founded when following typhoon Haiyan volunteer medics from Ireland travelled to the island of Cebu in the Philippines to assist in the disaster relief effort.

We provide emergency first aid and pre-hospital care in disaster zones. In addition to this our teams also train local volunteers in First Aid, CPR and lifesaving skills increasing the long term preparedness and resilience in the affected areas.

We are sending a team of medics to Nepal to assist in the relief effort following the devastating earthquake. Our work is carried out in coordination with local authorities as well as other responding organisations.

While all our volunteers are unpaid we require donations to cover our operational costs such as the purchase of medical supplies & equipment, accomodation etc.
With minimal overheads (<1% of our budget) the majority of donations received are spent on actual aid.

Please make a donation now and share this page with your friends and family.

Thank you.
