Little Mario and Family

This is a story
of Mario and
his family....
Mario and his family... his mother, a
sister, a brother, and he himself found
themselves with a problem after their
house had the roof ripped of by
someone they trusted in a drunken
rage one night. The one they called husband and father. That person has never been seen since.
Not only do they
need running water which costs a large sum, but a roof
bad now as well. Mario and his family are lucky to have generous neighbors to get water from their facets to drink. The rest they have to walk 20 minutes to the river. They desperately need to have the roof fixed so that they are no longer crammed to sleep in one small room. The cost to well structure the falling walls on their sloped house and put the new roof is $1,000 US currency and they also really desperately need running water. To have a pipe run to their home they will be charge $750 US currency. Another $250 is what Honduras is charging then to just start the water to running since they were not originally for the location they are now (moved there). So another $1,000 dollars is needed for water.
I got the chance to meet Mario and
one of my other sponsored children in
Honduras as well as their families in
May to the beginning of June.
Nothing prepared me to see how
lively he truely was. How it seemed my
visit brightened his week. The straight
faced boy in the photos and the same
boy that seemed to have a giant
weight on his shoulders in his letters
seemed so happy. I saw the same from
his family.
Mario was no longer just the child I
wrote, the one I wanted to help,
claimed family just by words on a
page.... He and his family are family
heart and soul..... The Connection
made will never be lost. More visits
will be made strengthening the
familial bond..... We may be countries
away, but we will forever be family. As that family I want to give them these two things. The same thing we take for greated everyday. I dislike asking for any donations, but to save myself is taking too long and I want their family to at least have a roof by the end of the year. If I can just reach my goal of 1,000 to give them their roof I will be he happiest girl ever as I know they will be filled with joy. Anymore than that 1,000 will be the biggest blessing not only for them, but for me as well to see how many care and want to help me give them the little things.
