Dog Going Blind, Needs Help

Our dog Emmitt is going blind.
Emmitt is one of the sweetest and most loving pets we've ever had.
As he slowly loses his sight, it's getting harder for him to maneuver around the house and backyard.
Watching him unable to do his favorite things like chase his little rubber tire, or join in family group hugs, is heartbreaking to watch....and has become increasingly hard on both him and us.
This all started a few months ago when Emmitt was diagnosed with diabetes.
He is on a special diet now, and takes insulin twice a day, and he is doing quite well with it.
The only problem is the diabetes is causing cataracts in both his eyes. The cataracts will continue to grow until he is totally and completely blind, in less than a year.
The vet says the procedure to remove the cataracts will cost $3600. With surgery, both cataracts will be removed and his blindness won't return.
We can handle half that amount, but need some help with the rest.
So we are asking all dog lovers, friends, and family to help us raise half the money (around $1800).
Emmitt is a yellow lab, almost 8 years old, and is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. We got him as a pup from the Second Chance animal shelter.
