"Dreamer" at FringeNYC 2016
"The Illusory Adventures of a Dreamer" is an official selection for the 20th Annual New York International Fringe Festival! Now all we need is your help.
About FringeNYC:
FringeNYC or the New York International Film Festival is one of the biggest theatre festivals in the world. Celebrating their 20th year of showcasing independent theatre, the Fringe Festival was the launching pad for shows like "Urinetown," "Matt and Ben," "Dog Sees God," and "Silence the Musical."
About the play:
Inspired by Ibsen's "Peer Gynt," a young gay man goes on a fantastical journey to find himself. Peer must confront a crisis of sexual identity as he encounters gluttonous Trolls, a mischievous guardian, and his one true love.
Company and creative team:
Michael Bradley (playwright), originally from Mahwah, New Jersey, is a theater artist based in New York City. As a stage manager, Michael has worked on and off Broadway including Stick Fly, produced by Alicia Keys, Signature’s revival of Angels in America, and the original productions of Clybourne Park, and Circle Mirror Transformation. Michael is a graduate of Boston University and a proud member of AEA.
Chris Goodrich graduated May 2015 from the University of Miami. Other directing credits include The Lifeboat is Sinking by Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham adapted for the stage, and most recently Assistance by Leslie Headland. His acting credits since moving to New York include Go on Forever as part of the Venus/Adonis Festival and The Phobia Plays as part of Rhapsody Collective at The Tank. The Illusory Adventures of a Dreamer will mark his New York directorial debut.
The Illusory Adventures of a Dreamer features an energetic ensemble cast including Corinne Britti, Austin Jennings Boykin (The 24 Hour Plays), Eddie Carroll, Nicholas Cochetto (Freefall Frostbite @ FringeNYC), Geovanny Fischetti, Molly Kelleher, Scott Lilly (Vital Theatre’s The Bully), Gerardo Pelati, Adam Razavi, Maddie Sykes (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and Taylor Turner as Peer Gynt.
