Jackson's FLABulous Skin Surgery
Donation protected
UPDATE: I HAVE THE FUNDS!! Between this campaign, my savings, and the 5K that I threw in October, I have oficially met my cash goal for the surgery. I am keeping this page up until Dec. 24th in order to get rid of the remaining FLABulous Calendars (for which the price has been reduced to $10!!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The good news is, I'm not here to ask for your money. There are plenty of GoFundMe accounts that are doing that. I would like to trade my services in exchange for a donation to help me get a surgery.
As a contestant on season 14 of The Biggest Loser, I lost 138 lbs in less than 6 months. My health changed indescribably and I have chosen to pay forward the opportunity that I was given on the show by working as a trainer for Planet Fitness in my hometown of Ogden, UT.
Unfortunately, there is one thing that is not discussed on the show and that's the issue of excess skin. When I started with Biggest Loser I weighed 328 pounds and was 62 inches around at my waist. You read that correctly. I was five feet, two inches AROUND. I'm only 67 inches tall. Expanding my belly to that limit for such an extended period of time has stretched the skin beyond the point of healing leaving a large amount of sagging, loose hanging belly skin.
(Bathroom Selfies were obviously a necessity)
This skin causes many problems with my health. Bacteria can grow in the folds of my skin often causing rashes and boils to form on my belly and groin. Running has become problematic because, as I run, the skin pulls and tugs causing horrible side aches. Sometimes it gets so painful that I can no longer run. This is terrifying because I feel like, if I can't run, the weight is going to come back on.
In addition to the physical, the mental anguish is just as real. No matter how hard I work or how clean my diet is, I can't get rid of the skin without the surgery. As a trainer, I get a lot of flack from people telling me "you should be the example to your clients. How can you teach them how to be healthy when you look like that." The public has this misconception that your size directly reflects your health, which is fundamentally not true. Check out this link for that whole story.

I want to make this point very clear: This is not a cosmetic surgery. This is not a weight loss surgery. I have already lost the weight. This is a surgery to improve my health, confidence, and ability to do my job.

Thank you so much. I know that everyone is stretching their pennies right now, so I appreciate that you would consider sharing some of yours with me. These are the donor rewards I can think of, but if you don't see something here you like, I'm always up for suggestions. Shoot me an email at jacksoncarterspeaks.com
I'll leave you with this:
If each of my Facebook followers gave $2.51, I could pay for this surgery.
If each of my Instagram followers gave $.91, I could pay for this surgery.
If each of my twitter followers gave $.43, I could pay for this surgery.
Don't think for even one second that you can't make the difference. Even if you don't have a dollar to spare, share this with your friends or family. Together, we have the power to completely transform my health for the better. Thank you.
