Dynamo x REMAR El Salvador

Hi Friends!
As some of you may know, a small group of us at Dynamo will be heading to El Tunco, El Salvador for the month of April. We've called this Dynamo Remote Month! (how original) or,  #W(orking)F(rom)Beach  

 

While there, we have the amazing opportunity to work with REMAR Orphanage El Salvador to spread joy and help out where we can.

In partnership with the 100 Smiles Project , we have committed to volunteering and leading different activities with the kids while we are there as well as sponsoring special events. These activities will include doing arts and crafts, having water balloon fights, afternoon activities, bracelet making, soccer games and even physically helping with construction. 

In addition to our physical time at the orphanage, we are planning on bringing needed supplies to the orphanage.



REMAR has many needs; from basic supplies like bed sheets, underwear, bras and towels to more concrete things like building supplies for a new dormitory for the older children. Basic supplies will be purchased here and then brought over.

To give you an idea of what the entire dormitory construction costs are, here is a breakdown of different aspects:

Doors $ 1,500.00
Handrails $ 1,102.58
Balconies $ 322.00
Material of bathrooms and plumbing $ 1,416.88
Electrical material $ 1,100.00
False sky . $ 800.00
TOTAL. $ 6,241.46 (USD)



The money that we raise will be going to some very specific things:

Sponsored "special lunch" for the whole orphanage: $400 CAD
Buying bedsheets, bras and underwear: $500 CAD
Construction supplies: $400 CAD

Anything extra that we raise will be put towards construction supplies for the new dormitories or, potentially, a surf day camp!



Any monetary donations that you make will be greatly appreciated and help us with purchasing the above mentioned supplies. 

We will be sharing receipts for all supplies purchased with donated funds.

If you don't want to donate money, we are also collecting physical donations to bring as well! Things that we are collecting include:

- New Bed Sheets (twin and single)
- New Bras (any size)
- New Underwear or Briefs (for both girls or boys)
