Help Fund Eagles Educate!

Donation protected
Eagles Educate is a registered student organization at Florida Gulf Coast University. We are open to all students at FGCU however Eagles Educate is composed primarily of future educators. We need YOUR help! To continue attending conferences, traveling to local organizations, volunteering in the community, and inviting guest speakers to share their knowledge with us, we must do some fundraising!

Members of Eagles Educate have attended various conferences across the United States to expand our professional development. In the past few years, members have attended the annual ACEI Conference which took place in Washington, DC. Last fall members attended the AMLE Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A group of us will be putting together a proposal and hopefully be presenting at AMLE's 41st annual conference in the fall. There are multiple conferences members plan to attend this spring. These include the SFEA Conference in Orlando Florida, the NABE Conference in San Diego California, and possibly others. We are also planning on organizing a small conference at Florida Gulf Coast University in the near future.

Aside from attending conferences nationwide, Eagles Educate will be traveling to Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida at least once this spring. We are planning a second trip but MUST fundraise to make it happen." Give Kids the World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids the World has welcomed more than 122,000 families from all 50 states and over 74 countries."

Some other activities and events that members of Eagles Educate partake in include participating in local 5K events, volunteering at the Golisano Children's Museum in Naples, volunteering at local schools, and participating in the Southwest Florida Reading Festival. Vice President, Danielle Davis has set up "Tyler and Jason's 5K Run for Cerebral Palsy" which will take place on February 1st this year. A large number of Eagles Educate members will be participating in the race or helping with behind the scene jobs.
