Evangelist Emily Clarke Mem. Fund
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Micah Clarke! I am the grandson of the late, great Evangelist Emily P. Clarke. As a 12-year old, I am going through a lot of changes in my life. However, none of them could ever compare to the change I experienced last year in May. As I was told that my grandmother had passed away, I thought I would suffer a heart attack. The most important woman to me besides my mother was gone. I was heart-broken and I wanted to die! However, I am still here today talking to you about my beloved grandmother. She did many wonderful things for her family and her church. However, the most important thing she wanted to complete she passed away with it not complete. So it is why I am here today to ask you of a big favor –yes, you- of helping me turn her dream into a reality. How can you help? By your donation. Your donation will represent you and your love. Before I tell you what my grandmother’s dream was, let me tell you about my grandmother.
Emily Pauline Bannister was born on December 22, 1941 in Miami, Florida. The youngest girl, Emily joined her eight older siblings for a life of quiet simplicity in Liberty City, Florida.
Her mother was a warrior for Christ and minister who believed in the power of prayer and shared her beliefs with her children. That belief was tested when at the age of three; Emily contracted double pneumonia and died. Meddie prayed and began to breathe life back into her daughter's body. When she felt Emily breath again, Meddie wrapped her in towels and called the elders to come and pray. Following that incident, Emily would always say "I have Mommy's breath in me."
In September of 1959, Emily received salvation while attending the Church Of God Of Prophecy General Assembly in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Following her graduation from Miami Northwestern Senior High, Emily set off to work as a seamstress at a local shop in Miami Beach. According to her, she had plans to save up for a cherry-red convertible so that she could travel and go as she pleased. However, God had other plans for Emily. Eustace S. Clarke spotted Emily in a red sweater at a church youth service and made it his mission to find her. They were wed on March 25, 1962 and would go on to have 15 children.
Emily became the first lady of several churches such as the Church Of God Of Prophecy Centerville, Homestead, and finally Miami Ridgeway which she served until her passing.
Truly following in her mother's footsteps, Emily became a State Evangelist and would preach and share the word with all who would listen. As first lady, she would take the time to counsel and encourage others. It was not uncommon to find her at her home on the phone, praying for those who sought her assistance.
After being ill for a while God saw it fit to call Emily back home. On May 3, 2015, Emily took her chariot ride into glory. Preceded her in death was Isaiah Clarke, her son; her mother and father; and six of her nine siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Eustace, her 14 other children, 32 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Emily had many projects concerning Miami Ridgeway. One of them the balcony of our church. Her husband, Bishop Eustace Clarke, had a vision of a bigger sanctuary for Miami Ridgeway. The completion of the sanctuary was originally supposed to be in 2001. However, its building was delayed and was not complete until 2008. Our building is a one million dollar facility built in the Northeastern part of Miami- Dade County. It seats 515 people.
Some parts of the sanctuary were not complete and/or needed to be replaced. So, Sis. Clarke took it upon herself to make sure that those issues were resolved. Some of the issues resolved by her was the purchasing of our Tri- Colored LED sign and other church signs, the purchasing of better quality microphones and system (aka. "Project VOICE") and so much more. However, the major issue that she strived to resolve was the completion of our balcony. The balcony is not complete. The foundation is laid, however, the rest of the balcony, such as entry ways and other major issues are not finished.
In order to complete our balcony, we need $100,000. 100% of it will go towards the completion of our balcony and nothing else. We would like the funds as soon as possible so we can accommodate the overflow of our church. May God bless you abundantly because of your donation! To be able to complete something that my grandmother wanted to complete more than anything is inexpressible. We will be - I will be so thankful for your generous donation. Please donate! It is for a worthy and noble cause. Thank You and I Love You!! 1st Picture: Emily Clarke at Miami Ridgeway Church Of God Of Prophecy on December 21, 2014 (The day before her birthday.
