I love yoga.
I've been doing yoga consistently since Early 2014. I do yoga because it strengthens my mind, body and heart. Yoga teaches me how to appreciate the positive and understand the negative. Being a working mom, wife and student can take a toll on me mentally, physically and emotionally but when my feet touch my mat I instantly feel energized with love and light.
Yoga gives my life balance.
I now find myself wanting to share with others this feeling. My passion for my practice is something i've never felt before. However, in order for me to share my passion I want to be able to share it correctly. With that being said, I would love to further my knowledge and follow my yogic path to a teacher training course. I've chosen to focus on the Ashtanga style of yoga which is "a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind." (

I've been teaching myself via books, Youtube, articles and DVDs and as each day passes my progress is developing rapidly. I have kept track of my progress through an Instagram account (@bahayogi) and have made many fellow yogi friends from all levels and countries and I have had the chance to follow many inspirations such as Kino MacGregor and Irene Pappas, just to name a few (because there are soooo many!). Instagram has also helped my development through Yoga challenges which encourage me to delve deeper into asanas (poses) that I either didn't know before or may have been too nervous to try.

Future Endeavours
I have this awesome dream where I complete my YTTC (Yoga Teacher Training Course) next year (2015) and eventually open this idyllic healing center. It'll have yoga, massage and meditation. An ecofriendly getaway/retreat with delicious and fresh food close to or on a beach. I'd love to open it on one of the secluded islands of the Bahamas. I'd make it affordable. I'd host retreats and teach yoga and even do massage. And everyone that works there is like a huge holistic family filled with a loads of love, light and passion. I imagine the energy of this place to be magical and inspiring for everyone that works and visits there. I think that would be beautiful. I want to pass on the passion that yoga fills my body with. It makes me feel like I can conquer anything. I'm working hard to make this dream a reality. And then you'll all be invited!!
But, I also hope to teach yoga to people who want to experience its many benefits. I think it would also be great to bring yoga to schools, especially here in The Bahamas (but, that's a whole other investment :P)

I've chosen to do my YTTC through Yoga Tree

I've done so much research to find the perfect place (they're all so amazing in many ways) and I keep coming back to this one. The options they have for training locations are vast and they have dates for training in 2015. Also, they're located in Toronto - a place I am very fmailiar with, having lived there before. :) They teach Classical Hatha, Ashtanga and (Bikram) Hot Yoga while still holding firm to foundational teachings.
I am looking to gain $6,500 to support my fund. This money will help me to pay for my tuition for a 250HR Registered Yoga Teacher Training Certificate, flight, accomodation and other minimal expenses.
Any amount is appreciated. ANY!
After a month of training, I would then be a REGISTERED YOGA TEACHER!
Thanking you in advance
I appreciate all the well wishes, donations and words of inspiration given. I really thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Love + Light,
Alex :) <3
