Erin School is trying to build a new state of the art playground!
The dream is big, but with your help the children of Erin Elementary and the surrounding community will beam in excitement as Erin School brings to life an area for not only play but critical enrichment.
As research has proven, there are two fundamental reasons why outdoor play is critical for young children in our schools.
First, many of the developmental tasks that children must achieve—exploring, risk-taking, fine and gross motor development and the absorption of vast amounts of basic knowledge—can be most effectively learned through outdoor play.
Second, our culture is taking outdoor play away from young children through excessive TV and computer use, unsafe neighborhoods, busy and tired parents, educational accountability, and academic standards, thus taking time away from play.
This playground will allow the children to further develop their minds and bodies...and with HUGE smiles on their faces!
Every dollar will go to securing the playground equipment and its safe installation. The ground work has already been prepped by families of Erin School...now the fun can begin!
