My name is Bridgett and my best friends name is Everest. He is an awesome Bernese Mountain Dog that we adopted from Beacon Animal Rescue in 2013. He was already 4 years old after being surrendered from his previous owners. We fell head over heels in love with him immediately and didn't even know he was a full bred anything since he needed a bath. He was recently diagnosed with bone cancer in his left hind leg and we are just devastated. They say if we amputate and then start chemo and radiation he will have a better chance of no pain for the rest of his life. We had no idea of just how much all of these procedures would cost until recently. He lives with me and my fiance and my 17 year old and we all love him beyond belief and just cannot imagine letting him go. Everest sleeps on a king size bed and rules the house and is quite the ferocious watch dog from his orthopedic bed in our living room or being the king on the couch. He used to go for mile walks and then play frisbee in our fence every single day until recently. He is in pain and we desperately need to get him the help he needs starting this week. The funds will all go to his surgery and monthly treatments after for the rest of his life. Everest is not our dog, he is our son. Any help would be so greatly appreciated to make his life a little easier. Thank you so much for your help.
