Baby Everleigh Iverson
Donation protected
On Friday, July 10, at 6 a.m., nearly five weeks before her baby girl's due date, my friend Missy woke up with contractions 3-4 minutes apart. Just before 8 a.m. her water broke while she was rushing find a sitter for her three small boys and scrambling to get ready to go to the hospital. As her husband Shane was racing along back roads trying to make the 29-mile trip from their home in Yelm to St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Missy braced herself for what she was literally dreaming about less than three hours earlier. She delivered Everleigh Anne Iverson at 8:42 am, all by herself in a speeding car! Born 6 lbs 10 ounces, and 4 1/2 weeks early, Everleigh is in Special Care as her lungs continue to develop. She will stay in the hospital until at least next week, but she is doing very well!
However, the Iversons were not prepared for such a costly, extended stay in a hospital nearly an hour from their home. Shane has had to take so much time off from work to care for their 3 boys, while Missy and Everleigh are at the hospital. Missy has to rotate spending nights away from her newborn daughter, so that she can care for their boys while Shane works. I would really like to help them out so that they can focus on Baby Everleigh's recovery and their family. They need money for the growing hospital bill, travel expenses for the daily trips back and forth, a household helper for a few weeks so that Shane can work and Missy can heal and be with Everleigh, and a medical grade breast pump, since Everleigh is too young to breastfeed. I have known the Iversons for many years. They are a wonderful, loving family, who never hesitates to help others. Right now they are under an intense amount of stress, and are trying to make it all work. Any donation, no matter how small, will help them focus less on money and more on their family miracle. Thank you for your help.
