This GoFundMe is here to raise money to save Frisco's 10 Mile Music Hall, a venue that has been devastated financially by gathering bans and is staring down at least 8 more months with little to no revenue and mounting debts.
I first got to know the owners of Barkley Ballroom a number of years ago, and immediately fell in love with the culture within this little mountain bar. Todd and Keegan’s love for music and love for their community captivated me along with many others. In October of 2018 along with a new partner Chris, they opened Frisco's first real music and wedding venue, 10 Mile Music Hall.
To me, 10 Mile Music Hall is more than just a venue to watch our favorite bands perform. It is a dream come to life. Not just a dream for the owners, but for every music-loving summit county resident or ski town visitor. Seeing this dream come to life, has inspired me along with many other entrepreneurs to follow my dreams. Even in this intense ski-hill economy, this duo has shown us all that anything is achievable with hard work and persistence.
As i've mentioned, this fledgling business fell onto extremely hard times. Due to COVID-19, the music hall has not been able to open for their core business of concerts and weddings since March. With zero government aid or grants, our beloved venue has been hanging on by a string. These guys have been barely able to make ends meet, and were close to having to shut it all down this week. A lifeline by the building's landlord gives us a path to survival BUT, they need help from us (the same community that has benefitted from their hard work and sacrifice). Besides the essential rent and bills from now until bands start touring again sometime next summer or fall, 10 Mile needs to provide ticket refunds for cancelled concerts and pay other bills that have mounted since the shut down. But every month they have to spend their personal money to pay rent and insurance while closed, the further away they get from these obligations or being able to throw shows for the community again.
Because of the decimation of the industry, the end of 10 Mile Music Hall could spell the end of a Summit County music venue. This would likely happen because the building would most-likely be repurposed so it could be leased quickly.
NOW IS OUR LAST CHANCE. Please help and donate what you can to this musical cause.
Best,
Alyssa Block
