Trail of Love Ride 2021
Don protégé
Hey yall! My name is Maranda and I am an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. I live on the Qualla Boundary in WNC. 5 and a half years ago my daughter and I were in a really bad MVA which fractured my spinal cord and landed me in a wheelchair (for now). I have since became a better person physically, spiritually, and mentally. I will not let a spinal cord injury hold me down or stop me!
God has called me to greater things and I do believe this is just part of my greater purpose.A group of friends and I are raising money to bike/drive/travel the Northern Route of the infamous Trail of Tears that my ancestors traveled from GA to OK in the 1800s which is 950 miles. I will be traveling it on handcycle and vehicle.
The reason and magnitude of this trip is to show what God can do within someone's life, and how a simple act of kindness can change the route of someone elses life. I plan on praying for others along the way and sharing my story to raise awareness of what SCI (spinal cord injury) is and how common they are in the natural world.
HOLY SPIRIT has birthed this dream within me and I cant just sit still and let this opportunity to love others and develop a family as we remember what pain, and sorrow our ancestors endured, but also bringing Redemption, Reconciliation, and Love reuniting the tribes to their homelands.
As of now, there is no known cure for an SCI (in the physical world).
I, along with my team of friends, family and professionals are going to bike and travel the trail, formally known as the trail of tears, to spread awareness of Spinal Cord Injuries, spread the love of Jesus along the way, while redeeming the trail for those that were lost and remembered. We will start the trail in September 2021 and travel bringing our ancestors back to their homeland. The goal is to love on others and show that people of all colors, ethnicities, sizes, shapes, and abilities CAN do all things through Christ Who is our strength.
This journey will be a hard, and fulfilling one and will be expensive so I am asking for your help. Any amount of donation would be appreciated. Please spread the word and if you know of others who would like to join us in our journey please contact me. Thank you for your support, prayers, and love. Sgi
If you would like to donate (any amount is appreciated) you can sponsor a mile
(so $1= 1 mile). You can give a one time donation or a monthly donation. Whatever God puts on your heart to give. All is appreciated and you will definitely be blessed for taking part in this and we appreciate your prayers and giving. God bless you all!
