Help me compete in Melbourne!

Donation protected

Hello! My name is Jordan Cahill and I am a 3rd year Landscape apprentice working for The Garden Makers on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

In October 2015, I was involved in the WorldSkills landscape construction competition which saw me competing against other landscape apprentices from the Sydney region. I was lucky enough to score a gold medal in this event, therefore giving me and my team mate, Chris Roberts, the opportunity to go forward as the Sydney regional team for NSW, to compete in the national competition.

WorldSkills is, in the words of many, "an Olympics for Trades and Service."
WorldSkills Australia aims to develop and nurture the trade and industry skills of Australia’s youth. The purpose is to promote and build a skills culture by inspiring young people, celebrating skills excellence and providing them with an opportunity to showcase their trade and skill talent. This goal is achieved through competitions held at regional, national and international levels.

The national competition is run over three days, beginning Thursday 6th October and to be completed on Saturday 8th October 2016, held at Melbourne Showgrounds. The competition is this Nation’s premier showcase of youth skill and trade excellence.

Winners of this event have the opportunity to represent Australia at the next International WorldSkills event to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2017.

After spending the past few months preparing and training for the national events, Chris and I have been asked to raise money in order to fund our trip too and from Melbourne.

All funds  raised will go towards such things as travel costs, accommodation, meals, freight for competitor's toolboxes, uniforms, consumables etc.

After starting a trade in landscaping I never would have imagined that I would get the opportunity to represent Sydney at a national competition, and with your help it would mean the world in order to make this goal come true.

Any donation great or small will be greatly appreciated, and will get both myself and Chris one step closer in reaching that gold medal in Melbourne.

For any other questions and comments about the competition, please feel free to contact me by sending me a message through my Facebook at any time.

Thankyou for your time and consideration!
