35 Years of Conservation
Great Works Regional Land Trust has been conserving land for 35 years this year!
Since 1986, we have protected roughly 7,000 acres of land, and we are now working to open our 20th public preserve. This is no accident and can be largely attributed to the hard work and dedication of GWRLT's board of directors, staff, and volunteers and especially donors like you, who have carried the organization through these many years, ensuring we could reach our land protection goals and provide public access! Having protected this much land requires GWRLT to work hard at stewarding our lands while also engaging our community in land conservation and good stewardship practices.
To ensure we can accomplish these significant goals, Great Works now seeks to raise $35k for 35 Years of Conservation!
What will $35k do for GWRLT and our community? Here is an example of how these funds may be spent over one year:
- Educational Kiosks at three preserves
- Trail plan & construction and parking access at one preserve
- New bog bridging at two preserves
- 24 Guided hikes
- 12 Community engagement programs
- One new bench at a preserve
These items that we would be able to offer are all part of GWRLT's effort to give back to the communities we serve, and it would be impossible without you. Public access, trails, guided outings, and educational programs are the best way we know how to share our conserved lands with you and give you an opportunity to learn more about conservation in your community.
We are so grateful for donors like you who have contributed to Great Works through each of our endeavors over the years – from preserving land, to creating public access and trails, to taking on new projects and community offerings, and beyond through our continuous growing as an organization. We appreciate your support throughout these many years as we have worked endlessly to meet our major milestones in land protection.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to our 35 Years of Conservation fund to help continue our important efforts for many generations to come.
