Abandoned

Pet Patrol is an entirely volunteer-run, non-profit cat rescue organization in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. All our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and any health concerns are addressed before they are available for adoption. Hello, my name is Samson and mine is a story of abandonment.

Pet Patrol found me through a social media site where someone was looking to find my
original owner, and when that didn't happen, I was advertised 'Free' for
adoption. It all started when I ended up on a farm property, and I was
very sad there. I didn't belong there; it wasn't my choice - I had a
home once, but I didn't know how to get back to that comfortable life.
The barn was cold and wet; there were large animals and big clumps of
poop everywhere. This was not the environment I was used to. A lady saw my ‘Found
Pet’ ad that the farmer was good enough to post for me and she thought I
was her lost female cat. Two farmers had already checked my bum and
said I was a girl, but actually, I was an unneutered boy. The woman felt
badly for me when we met and even though I was not her cat, she took me
home. I proved to be such a nice boy too but she couldn’t provide me
with a home and she continued to look for her lost kitty.
She contacted Pet Patrol after being told that "Free Cat" ads were not appropriate and
once in Pet Patrol care we found that I needed a little bit of help. I
needed to be seen by a vet who found some bald spots on my skin - an
infection. I was also in need of blood work and some dentistry as well. No kitty
health insurance here, so the bill is adding up quickly. $745 dental,
$400 diagnostics, $110 antibiotics. I am not a spring chicken but I am a happy cat, content and well
loved in my foster home. I am so relieved to have been rescued by
someone, and in Pet Patrol care where I can be cared for and be 100%
healthy again, but this is a busy time of year for Pet Patrol. There
are not too many wee kittens, but there are a lot of older boys like myself
looking for a way back inside the house and a way into someone's heart. We all need medical care as living on the street is really hard on our kitty bodies and often we are sick and injured.
If you could donate towards my care I will retire happily, when all is
taken care of, onto someone's lap for love for the rest of my life.

Please add this campaign to your Facebook Page. Thanks!
