If you don’t know me already, my name is Jamar Griddine. I am 20 and the Youngest Chef in KC. I was born and raised in the Kansas City area and attended Raytown High School and graduated in 2017 from the Herndon Career Center in Culinary Arts. I have a passion for food, cooking and baking and for helping others.
On November 17th I was selected by The National Black Chef’s Association to be the JR Chapter President of Kansas City and the surrounding cities in Missouri. I am thrilled to have this honor and through this position I hope to encourage other young people to follow their dreams. Recently I have had the chance to do some coaching with students at Herndon and Raytown High School.
I have been invited to the Annual Chef’s Awards 2020 held by the NBCA in Atlanta, Feb 21-23 and will be receiving an award during the event. There will be other chefs from all around our country in attendance. This is an incredible opportunity for me to network and to learn from other successful people.
I am looking for ways that I can raise or earn an additional $700 from now until January 30th,2020 when I have to commit to the event and make some payments towards the costs. That money is to pay for transportation and lodging. That is a chunk of change in a short time but I am willing to try and believe that you can help me get there.
