Cross Country for Cancer
Donation protected
Please allow us to introduce ourselves, we are Howard Schwartz and Christopher Buchmoyer. We are both Paramedics from Pennsylvania and have been involved in EMS for more than three decades. Many years ago, we both became involved in long-distance bicycling thanks to the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, which is a multi-day cycling event that honors those EMS providers who have died in the Line of Duty. Like most in Public Safety and Healthcare, we cross paths with many “colleagues” and develop friendships. As life moves forward, jobs change, and people move many of these friendships remain for a lifetime. A few of these people hold a special place in our hearts, as they become part of our individual families.
Two of our family members are currently battling cancer. One lives in Northern Virginia and the other resides in Arizona. Unfortunately, due to the obvious distances, Chris and I have been unable to be physically with our Sisters as they are receiving treatment. As a way of showing support to our Sisters and their families and with our love of cycling, we are planning a Cross Country bicycling journey. Our journey will cover more than 2000 miles and take approximately 30 days with a planned departure date of May 15, 2022.
We are asking from you as a way of supporting those in the EMS community battling Cancer to provide us with assistance. That assistance may be in the form of tangible items such as food and lodging, or monetary assistance to help us defray the costs.
We thank you in advance for your time and consideration of this important cause.
