Never had a birthday party

In my line of work, working with aboriginal Australians, I often hear some heartbreaking stories however one last week really touched me and I'd like to do something to help.

Talking with the young mother, I was saddened to hear that her daughter's upcoming birthday will be a nonevent, as she has no money for birthday presents or for a birthday party.

Even sadder was the fact that her daughter who is turning nine, has never had a birthday party. Not even one.

This woman who has recently escaped a very violent relationship had never been able to access money to give her daughter a party and had rarely been given money to even buy her gifts.

She is a young mum who is doing all she can to get back on her feet now they are free, the cost of setting up a new home of course is considerable and every cent is going towards this.

A birthday party is a childhood joy we should all have a memory of. After so many traumatic years, anything you could spare towards helping make a Magic day for this little girl would be very appreciated. Any extra will go towards clothes and bedroom furniture for this little girl.
