Dick Kraus Memorial Scholarship Fund

Donation protected
This week, sadly, the world lost Dick Kraus, former owner of Aquacultural Research Corporation. He and his colleagues transformed a clam chowder factory hidden in the dunes of Cape Cod into the heart of an aquaculture industry that grew and spread around the region. He tinkered and crafted and perfected, and then shared his knowledge and experience with anyone who was interested. He enabled us, and hundreds like us, to be not only working in a meaningful occupation, but living a lifestyle that bridges the ebb and flow of the natural world with the excitement and joy of modern human existence. In any shellfish-harvesting community, you will find someone who can connect the dots back to Dick. He found interest in all subjects, and was a mentor and a friend to countless individuals. A true hero in our lifetime. Dick’s legacy will live on. Thank you Dick, for all you did for the shellfish industry and for being a friend to everyone you met. We will all miss you tremendously. (Paul Wittenstein, A.R.C. GM and friend of Dick’s)

In Dick's memory, his family wishes to establish a scholarship program to support local students interested in pursuing a career in aquaculture. Any contribution that you can make will be gratefully received for this effort.
